Everything seemed to come together this year, with the excellent weather and hard work of Tyler County Relay for Life organizers resulting in what event Chairman Leann Monk describes as "the largest Relay for Life we've ever had in the six years Tyler County has participated in the American Cancer Society event." This year's "Relay" raised $68,309.77 as of Saturday morning. Monk said that with continuing contributions, she expects to clear over $70,000 dollars.     The weather was perfect for the event and the large turnout that resulted in a record number of teams participating.     "Our average number of Relay teams participating yearly is usually around 18-20," she explained. "This year we had a record 34 teams." She added that the number of cancer survivors attending was also a record.     "We usually have around 60 cancer survivors participate in the celebration. This year we had upward of 85 survivors participate."   ...
