Bulldogs receive District awards

The Bulldog football team received several District awards on Monday, Dec. 2 and had outstanding results. Sophomore Treston Horton received the superlative award of Utility Player of the Year.

First team included: Senior Gerrick Vrooman, Senior Wesley Dobbins, Junior Kobe Shird, and Sophomore Kolyer Marshall. Second team included: Senior Kaleb Powers, Junior Jordan James and Junior Evan Stewart. Honorable mention included: Sophomore Jermi Shamblin, Sophomore Jay Johnson, Sophomore Jayden Ferguson and Freshman Reed Best.

The Bulldogs worked hard throughout the football season to earn these awards and are working hard each day to prepare for next season.

The Lady Dog basketball team took on Tenaha on Monday, Nov. 25 and sadly could not pull out a win against the Lady Tigers.

On Tuesday, Nov. 26 the Lady Dogs played Evadale at the R.B. Moffett Gymnasium and fought hard until the end. The first half of the game did not go in the Lady Dogs favor, but after half time, the dogs came out ready to play. Senior Shelby Patrick played strong defense throughout the game. Despite playing hard, the Lady Dogs were not able to win.

The next game for the Lady Dogs will be on Tuesday, Dec. 3 at PCA. Varsity will begin at 5 p.m. On Friday, Dec. 6 the Lady Dogs will be traveling to Deweyville for a tournament. The Lady Dogs will play at 12:45 p.m. against Bridge City JV in gym 2. The game times for Saturday are to be determined.

Bulldog basketball will also be traveling to Deweyville for the tournament and will play on Thursday, Dec. 5. The Dogs will play at 2 p.m. against Dayton in gym 1. The game times for Saturday are to be determined. Before traveling to Deweyville, the dogs will play at the R.B. Moffett Gymnasium against Corrigan. JV will start at 5 p.m. and Varsity will begin at 6:30 p.m.
