Fugitive arrested after anonymous tip

by Emily Waldrep

A local wanted fugitive was found and arrested in Woodville after Woodville Police Captain Mike McCulley received an anonymous tip from an informant stating the whereabouts of the wanted man.

"On March 10 at approximately 7:30 a.m, Officer Borel along with Officer Partin of the Woodville Police were contacted by an anonymous citizen regarding the location of a wanted person who was hiding in an apartment complex on North Beech Street." McCulley said. "Officers were aware that this person had an outstanding parole warrant from the Texas Department of Pardons and Paroles and had been on the run for several weeks."

According to McCulley, when Officers went to the location that the defendant was hiding, they conducted a search and found the man, identified as Frederick Paul Price Jr., age 23 of Woodville, hiding in the bathroom.

"He as transported to the jail and is currently being held without bond pending the court action of the parole warrant," McCulley said. "The parole was issued after he committed various criminal activities that caused the parole warrant to be issued against him."

McCulley said that not reporting a fugitive from justice could lead to jail time.

"We encourage citizens to report the location of any person who is currently wanted for any felony offense," McCulley said. "If a person chooses not to turn them in or notify the authorities, they could be prosecuted under the Texas Penal Code for hindering apprehension of a Fugitive or Aiding a Fugitive from Justice. We encourage citizens not to get themselves in trouble by hiding out people they know are wanted fugitives."
