On Saturday, May 11, Nikki Noble traveled to Austin as the only representative from Colmesneil to compete in the 1A state track meet. Noble received the wildcard after competing in the regional track meet, allowing her to qualify for the state meet. At the meet, Noble ran a personal best time of 12.68 seconds in the 100-meter dash, earning a seventh place finish overall. She is only a junior, so she hopes to improve her time and return to the state meet next season in May.

Colmesneil's baseball team suffered a heartbreaking loss on Saturday to the Lovelady Lions after finishing the regular season with a 12-0 district record, ending the Bulldogs hopes of state championship run. The Bulldogs got off to a hot start behind pitcher Cole Lowery, jumping up 3-0 after just two innings. It looked as though the Bulldogs would run away with the game, but they made some uncharacteristic mistakes throughout their contest with the Lions. A missed chance at a big inning in the third crippled Colmesneil later on the game, as they had the bases loaded with no outs and weren't able to capitalize on the opportunity. The Bulldogs pitching staff also played rattled, walking 15 batters, another uncharacteristic move by the 23-1A district champions. In the fifth inning, Colmesneil gave up four runs to fall behind 6-4. From there, Colmesneil struggled driving in runs and eventually fell to the Lions by a score of 7-4. The loss extends Colmesneil playoff winless streak to three seasons, dating back to a win over the Big Sandy Wildcats in 2010. As for next season, the Bulldogs are going to have replace three of their most productive players in seniors Bryce Rains, Dakota Thedford, and Zac Cummins.
