Spurger freshman receives Athlete of the Year Award

Nathan Sheffield of Spurger ISD received an award for Athlete of the year last week. Athlete of the year is given to the student that excels in sports and is a leader on and off the court. Nathan played basketball and tennis. He

He received second team all district recognition in basketball and placed third in district tennis as well as being a regional qualifier. He also scored multiple baskets during each basketball game and was a great athlete, even though he was only a freshmen.

Nathan will be a sophomore at Spurger next year and is excited for a great sports season.
