The CJ trailriders will be holding their 2nd annual Scholarship Ride on Saturday, May 12, 2012. The ride will begin at 9 a.m after riders sign up and register from 8-8:45 a.m. The ride will start on County Road 2845 (Fort Teran) off of 1745 (Colmesneil/Chester Highway.) Riders will ride about 15-18 miles to the Fort Teran Monument and back. The cost for the ride is $15 and includes lunch. The cost for lunch for non-riders will be $7.50. All proceeds will go to the CJ Scholarship fund, which is given to a high school Senior in Tyler County. Donations are accepted as well.
The CJ trailride group was formed in 2007 to keep the memory of Cindy Jo Henserling/Graham going by using her love of horses and kids. Cindy Jo introduced a lot of kids to horseback riding and the trail ride group raises money to sponsor a scholarship for the youth she loved so much. Any and all trail riders are welcome to attend, and the only requirement is that horses have proof of current negative coggins.
