Warren FFA continues to advance in state events, and is proud to announce that the Forestry team competed on April 18 at the State Forestry Contest in Nacogdoches. Forty-three teams from around the state competed for the coveted first place award, and Warren's senior team placed second overall in state. Emily Sisk led Warren's team by finishing as the fifth highest in the state. Mason Hatch followed with a 13th place finish. Quinton Cawley and Hunter West also placed in the competition, helping Warren to claim the second place overall spot.
Warren's junior team, consisting of John David Murray, Kyle Norton, Kendall Perkins, and Cameron McGallion, also did well in the competition, and finished sixteenth.
The senior team will now advance to the Southern Region contest, which will be held in Texarkana on May 4, 2012. The team will compete against the best teams from Texas, Oklahoma, Louisiana and Arkansas.
