On Saturday, April 21, at about 10 p.m., Hardin county troopers, Warren and Woodville fire departments, and emergency Entergy staff were called to the scene of a traffic accident on Highway 69 just south of FM 2827 near Warren. Reports and eye witnesses state that one passenger was driving a Nissan van from the Beaumont area and was headed south on 69 when she lost control of her vehicle on the wet roads. Her vehicle crossed the oncoming lane of traffic and struck a electricity pole, snapping it on impact. Warren and Woodville fire departments responded with the jaws of life, and the woman was transported to Tyler County Hospital, where she was treated and released for her minor injuries.
Amazingly, no one in Tyler County lost power as a result of the snapped electric pole, as the van kept it propped upright until Entergy arrived on scene for repairs.
