Chester Boy's Tennis Advances To Regionals

The Jackets tennis team won first place this year in their district. Trent Davis and Matt Liljequist won first place in doubles, Hernan Martinez won first place in singles and Johnny Aeina was runner up in the singles. They all advanced to regionals, which will take place in College Station on April 18.

On Tuesday, April 5, Chester's track team traveled to Lufkin for their District meet. Kelli Handley placed first in both the shot put and discus throw. She will be advancing to Area in both events, which will take place in Zavalla on Thursday, April 12. Also advancing to Area with Handley is Tyra Adair. She placed first in both the 100 and 200 meter dash. She also placed third in the triple jump and fourth in the long jump. Congratulations to both girls; good luck at Area.

The Lady Jackets softball team traveled to Zavalla on Thursday, April 5. They played a good game but fell short to the Lady Eagles, with a final score of 16-2. Their game scheduled for Tuesday, April 3, against West Sabine was cancelled due to rain. On Monday, April 16 the girls will be playing their last game of the season at home against Brookeland at 3:30 p.m. The baseball boys will be playing at home on Friday, April 13 against Burkeville at 4:30 pm. Then on Tuesday, April 17, they will be playing Brookeland at home starting at 4:30 pm.
