Woodville Eagles see new coaches in 2014

The 2014 Woodville Eagles will see new coaches on the sidelines as they enter the new football season.
New head football coach Mike Waldie is looking forward to the new season. Joining Waldie will be Davin Nelson. Nelson will serve as the defensive coordinator. Nelson coached with Waldie last season in Jacksonville.

Jordan Wood will serve in the role as offensive coordinator. Last season Wood coached at Linden-Kildare.

Steve McQueen coached last season in Rusk and will coach at the middle school. McQueen was a long time coach for the Kountze Lions. Coleman Butter is a recent graduate from Texas State University. Butter played for Waldie when he coached at Cleveland High School. This week the Eagle coaching staff is preparing for the first week of practice.

The Woodville Eagle Booster Club will host a hamburger and hot dog cookout at 6 p.m. on Thursday, July 31st at the Eagle Summit.

All community members, family and friends are encouraged to come out and meet the 2014-2015 Woodville Eagle coaching staff.

The freshmen will be able to check their equipment out at 9 p.m. on Thursday morning. Monday, August 4, is the first day of UIL allowed practice, and all incoming ninth through twelfth graders need to report to the field house. The first four days are helmets only and scheduled from 7 p.m. - 12p.m. Friday is the first day of contact and the Eagles will have its first inner squad scrimmage on Saturday at 9:30 a.m. The time is a correction from 9:30 p.m. that was reported earlier. High school volleyball will also start practice Monday as well.
