To prepare for the upcoming season, Warren hosted an Xcel Volleyball Camp, July 21 - 24.
Xcel is designed to focus on all skills, as well as specific positions during the four day camp. Key concepts taught included ball control, directing, movement, reading hitters, floor recovery, hitting techniques, serving control and strategies.

Xcel Volleyball Camp, based in Tarkington, is run by owner Chelsea Monroe, Chrissy Woodward and Morgan O'Brien. Warren had seventeen girls attend the camp ranging from incoming freshmen to seniors. Kiley Young and Savannah Gore, both seniors, stated that they focused on teamwork and communication, along with working on the skills most needed to succeed as volleyball players. Both girls agreed it was an enjoyable camp, and they are looking forward for the upcoming season to begin.

Warren volleyball coach, Michelle Weichert was on hand to watch and said of the camp, "I thought the camp was a great experience for the girls. It gave them an opportunity to see where we have weaknesses and gave them specialized team and individual help in their improvement areas. They were able to participate in college level skill drills and received strong coaching from three ladies who have been successful at the high school and college level. I have high expectations for our Lady Warriors this year." "We made leaps and bounds last year and only lost one senior to graduation," Weichert said. "We, as a team, talked in the offseason about our team and individual goals. I want nothing but the best for our athletes and will push them to be better; always with our eyes on our goals. It is my goal to develop our volleyball program into one that our athletes, school and community can be proud of."

Two-a-days start August 4. Morning session is from 7:00 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. while the afternoon session is from noon to 3:30 p.m. All parents are encouraged to come meet head coach Weichert on Monday, August 11 at 6:30 in the high school gym to discuss the upcoming season and what she expects from her volleyball teams.
