The Eagles are hoping to improve on last year's 2-8 overall and 1-6 district record. The team will compete in District 12-3A Division I with Kirbyville, East Chambers, Buna, Kountze, Anahuac, Hardin and Warren. Players to watch in 2014 are returning quarterback Marqui Jackson, leading rusher Delante' Barclay, defensive end Chris Castle, defensive back Aaron Mitchell, defensive end Allen Williams, defensive lineman Obie Barclay and wide receiver Jamal Horn.

Head football coach Mike Waldie is excited about the upcoming season. "I am ready to get started. We are going to start checking out equipment on Monday, July 28th to the seniors from 9:00-11:00," Waldie said.

"The juniors will receive their equipment on Tuesday, the sophomores on Wednesday and the freshmen on Thursday."

On Tuesday, July 29th, Coach Waldie will be hosting a parent meeting at the Eagle Summit Auditorium at 6 p.m. The meeting will set the expectations for the upcoming season, go over fall camp schedule, scrimmage information and a full question and answer period.

Monday, August 4th, is the first day of UIL allowed practice. All incoming ninth through twelfth grade football players need to report to the field house at 7 a.m.

The first four days of practice are helmets only and the schedule is from 7-12:00 p.m. August 8th is the first day of practice in full pads and the Eagles will host an intra-squad scrimmage on Saturday, August 9th at 9:30 p.m. at the Woodville Eagles Stadium.
