The Woodville Lady Eagles traveled to Kirbyville last Friday to take on the Lady Wildcats in a winner take all game. Shelby Mixon and Kirbyville's Kayla Henson carried a no-hitter to the fourth inning. Tamara White broke up the no-hitter with a one out solo homerun to center field. This would be all the offense that the Lady Eagles would need, as Mixon pitched a complete game no-hitter.
Mixon pitched seven innings allowing no walks and seven strikeouts. White led the Eagles with the lone RBI. Kenzie MaGallion and Mica Maxwell each had a base hit.
The Eagles finished 13-1 in district and 23-3 overall. The Texas Girls Coaching association ranks the Lady Eagles eleventh in state. Woodville will face the loser of Woden and Elkhart in the bi-district round of the playoffs. The date and sites have yet to be determined.
