Chester is proud to recognize their basketball All-District Selections for District 26A. Senior, Timber Wright was named Offensive MVP, senior Kyrstin Jobe and senior Tyra Adair received 1st Team honors, junior Laken Read and freshman Cord Neal received 2nd Team honors and junior Destiny Kuehn, sophomore Jaci Davis, sophomore Maddie Read, senior Kris Kuehn and freshman Colten Martin received Honorable Mention.

Yellowjacket Baseball
Chester Yellowjackets lost 8-7 in seven innings Saturday, March 7, despite outhitting West Hardin Oilers 13 to nine. The Oilers took an early lead over the Yellowjackets. West Hardin kept the lead until the bottom of the third when Keaton Whitworth made an RBI and Kris Kuehn scored. John proctor also made and RBI to bring in K. Whitworth. K. Kuehn struck out the first three Oiler batters in the fourth inning. Cord Neal singled to first and stole second and third on a fielding error. Kuehn made a sacrifice fly to bring in Neal. Whitworth made a line drive to left field for a single. He was able to steal second and third. The third out occurred with Whitworth in scoring position. The Yellowjackets cut their deficit to 5-3. The Jackets only allowed one run in the fifth inning. John Proctor started the inning for the Yellowjackets. He advanced to first on a walk. Bailey Goins also drew a walk. Clay Thomson grounded out to first. This allowed Proctor to advance to third and Goins to advance to second. Proctor then scored on a catching error. Neal hit a double to bring in Goins. Neal scored on a single hit by Levi Watts. The fifth inning closed with a 6-6 tie. The Oilers scored two runs in the sixth to take the lead 8-6. The Yellowjackets did their best to make a comeback in the last inning. Neal scored the only run and the Jackets' last inning efforts just weren't enough. "Our young men are continuing to improve at the plate every day. Our defense also continues to get better as they shake off the dust from not having a baseball team last year. I grow more and more excited everyday as I see them continue to work hard to improve at their respective positions, and am anxious to see what the future holds for us" comments Coach Moore.

Lady Jacket Softball
The Lady Jackets traveled to Broaddus, Friday, March 7. They took an early lead in the first inning scoring four runs. The Lady Jackets never faltered or gave up their lead. The Lady Jackets picked up a 17-6 win over the Broaddus Bulldogs. Kyrstin Jobe, Heather Choate, timber Wright and Jaci Davis scored three runs, Destiny Kuehn scored 2 and Laken Read, Donna Martin and Kalee Thomson each scored one run.

The Lady Jackets dropped a 7-2 decision to the Big Sandy Wildcats, Saturday, March 8. Timber Wright and Jaci Davis scored the only two runs for the Lady Jackets.
