Warren Warriors earn Championship

On Monday, February 24, the varsity Lady Warrior softball team played at home against Spurger. The Lady Warriors played a great game and defeated the Lady Pirates 18-3. The varsity Lady Warriors competed in a Livingston tournament on Thursday, February 27, and on Saturday, March 1. Although the Lady Warriors did not place in the tournament it helped to prepare the team for the upcoming season.

On Thursday, February 27, Friday, February 28, and Saturday, March 1, the varsity Warrior baseball team traveled to Frankston to compete in a tournament. (Liz Fry Photo) tournament was played against LaPoyner. The Warriors took the lead early in the game and were able to continuously extend it as the team won 16-0. On Friday the Warriors played another great game and defeated Martin Mills 18-0. The Warriors competed in the championship game on Saturday against Malakoff. The Warriors worked hard and were able to win 8-1. This win earned the Warriors the championship title of the tournament. Kelby Weyler received MVP of the tournament.

The Lady Warrior softball home run derby took place on Friday, February 28, and Saturday, March 1. The Friday night winners consisted of Corley Dillbeck in the division of boys 8 and under, Cadence Carrell in the division of girls 8 and under, Bryce Herrington in the division of boys 9-13, and Courtney Stewart in the division of girls 9-13. The Saturday night winners consisted of Chelsea Gordon in the division of girls 14-18, Tristan Murphy with nine homeruns in the division of boys 14-18, Coach Weichert with five homeruns in the division of women 19 and older, and Bryce Glosson with nineteen homeruns in the division of men 19 and older.

The JV and varsity Lady Warriors will host their first district home game of the season on Friday, March 7, against Woodville. The Lady Warriors will compete at Corrigan-Camden on Tuesday, March 11. On Monday, March 13, the Warriors will play away versus Legacy Christian.
