The Lady Eagles Cross Country team is headed to Regionals in Humble Saturday after a strong showing last Wednesday at the 20-AA District Meet held at Wildwood last Wednesday. Woodville finished third in District in a tightly contested race. Kountze won the team district championship with 45 points, followed by Corrigan-Camden's 58, and Woodville with 60. Freshman Jordan Ogden was the individual District Champion with a time of 14:33 in the two mile run. Audrey Brookshire earned the tenth place medal running 15:48. Kayla Fontenot and Dierdre Carroll were just behind Audrey finishing in twelfth and thirteenth. Carolina Baeza ran 17:03 to finish 24th. Emily Parker and Brittany Allvord finished 27th and 28th.
The Woodville Boys finished just twelve points behind Warren for the District Championship and missed qualifying for regionals by just five points. The boys had two runners advance individually. Ben Worsley ran the five kilometer run in 20:07 and finished seventh. Aaron Mitchell placed tenth and qualified for Regionals with a time of 20:56. Aaron Garess finished in 15th running 21:26.
Caleb Dinger finished 21st, Shaun O'Neal was 35th, and Justin Livingston was 42nd.
The Eagles had one runner in the boys and girls JV division. Tyler Hollingsworth finished second on the boys side while Makayla Amason earned the ninth place medal for the girls.
The eighth boys won the district championship. Mark Tucker was the district champion. Chris Barclay was second, Payton Sims fourth, and Isaac Dinger sixth. Truett McCollum finished second for the seventh grade. Madison Tucker finished fourth in the eighth grade girls division. Alayna Wiggins and Amanda Roessler received the fourth and sixth place medals.
The Lady Eagle volleyball playoff game will be held November 5th at Sam Houston State University in Huntsville. Woodville will host Elkhart at 7:15. The Varsity Football team will travel to Warren Friday night. The JV will be home and the junior high will play in Warren Thursday.
