Celebrates 100 years—Annie Mae Spurlock, a resident of Dogwood Trails Manor, celebrated her 100th birthday March 15. She was born in 1914 and was married to her now-deceased husband, J.D. Spurlock, for 72 years. They had a garden and sold vegetables at their home. She enjoyed sewing, knitting, quilting and made doilies until she could no longer see her work; she is also a wonderful cook, who canned her own vegetables and fruit. She loved to fish and hunt, and she killed an 8-point buck when she was 95. Annie has three children, Jimmy, Jeannie and Jerry; seven grandchildren, including Janet, Brenda, Jill, Ashley, Cassidy, Suzanne and Steven; nine great-grandchildren, including Brandi, August, Alyson, Sydney, Sara, Isabella, Gabriel, Caleb and Hayden.
