Woodville Police are asking for help in indentifying the person or persons involved in a burglary at H&R Block on May 4th at approximately 6:45p.m.Officer Zachary assisted by Deputy Marshall were called to the H&R Block business located in the 200 Block of East Bluff Street in reference to a reported burglary of a building.
According to Mike McCulley with the Woodville Police Department, Officer Zachary met with an employee there that stated that a person or persons had forcibly gained entry into the building by breaking a window located on the south side. Once inside, the they rummaged through the rooms and desks and removed two locked filing cabinets with their contents, along with a notebook computer. Several items of evidence were recovered from the scene that were thought to be left by those involved.
"The burglars probably thought there was money inside of the locked filing cabinets," McCulley said.
The burglary is suspected to have occurred during the late night of May 3.
Anyone having any information or that may have seen anyone acting suspicious around the location are asked to contact the Woodville Police Department. All calls to the Department will be kept confidential.
