18 year old held in sexual assault of 12-year-old girl

by Emily Waldrep

A local 18 year old man is being held in the Tyler County Jail under a half million dollar bond after he admitted to sexually abusing a 12-year-old on multiple occasions.

"Around February 1, Officer Sheffield was notified by a local resident regarding a child possibly being sexually abused," Woodville Police Captain Mike McCulley said. "After investigating that report he discovered that a 12 year old victim was reportedly abused by an individual classified as an acquaintance."

This individual was later identified as David Allen Price, age 18, of Woodville.

"Upon interviewing the 12 year old victim a statement was obtained stating that on 6 or 7 occasions the defendant allegedly engaged in sexual contact with the victim in a location in Woodville," McCulley said. "The allegations claimed that Price lured the 12 year old to a location and on each occasion Price engaged in sexual contact with the 12 year old."

This information was investigated, and a warrant was issued for Price for Aggravated Sexual Assault of a Child.

"After interviewing Price, he admitted that the allegations were true," McCulley said. "There was also written documentation seized during the investigation that further confirmed the ongoing relationship between the two."

Price is being held in the Tyler County Jail under a $500,000 bond.
